These
systems are most commonly used for the storage of palletised goods and
are only constrained by the performance of fork lift truck and building
size. We describe principal systems here but others are available.
Narrow Aisle - as the name suggests, the aisles are reduced to
little more than the width of the fork lift truck. This system requires
a specialised fork lift truck.
Drive-In - suitable for most types of fork lift truck where stock
rotation is not a significant factor. Drive-In racking offers greatly
increased storage capacity without the need to invest in specialised handling
equipment.
Standard
Operating Aisle - offering fork lift trucks 100% accessibility
to each rack face.
Double
Deep - as the standard pallet racking system but reducing access
to individual pallets by 50%, also reducing fork lift operating aisles
by 50%. This is ideal should your operation store pallets of the same
product. Mechanical (Extendable) forks are required for this system and
can be fitted to most fork lift trucks.
